Travels

Traveling is still one of my greatest passion in life. If only I have more time and money, I would love to go to some 3rd world countries on a backpack and explore their historic landmarks. It will be most thrilling to have a nice lookout for authentic buildings, the culture and the people fascinates me. So far, I have been to Hong Kong, Macau, Shenzhen and I love visiting to the Disneyland as well. The memories are priceless and I have an enjoyable time during my December holidays then.

My Hair Style

Frankly I used to loathe my hair! I used to grumble and complain to my mum why I had such frizzy dry hair whereas my siblings has smooth and straight hair, unlike mine. A Famosa Fort

The Kota A Famosa, which is one of the oldest buildings in Malaysia, was once the mighty and fearsome fortress that was built in the 15th century by the Portuguese to protect the spice trade route between Portugal and the rest of Asia.

The fort used to have long ramparts and four major towers. Above the A Famosa Fort is St Paul's Hill. Heeren Street and Jonkers Street in Malacca are one of the heritage landmarks. Heeren Street is also known as "First Class Gentlement Street" or the "Millionaires Row", similar to that of th emodern terrace houses but much longer than those. I love going to Jonkers Street, they have a whole stretch of houses where you will be amazed... it is indeed very interesting to visit their long shophouse, I have been to one and from one end to the other, it looks like it is nearly half kilometer long or even longer.. My New Pair Of Eyeglasses

I wonder how many of us experienced what I did lately to my pair of eyeglasses. Please do not laugh at me...

After a night of studying in bed, I didn't realize I slept with my pair of eyeglasses just a foot away. Early next morning, I remember hearing "cracking sound"...oh oh... immediately that jerked me up from bed and there my poor pair of glasses broken into two. It was a mess and I thank God they didn't cut into my body.

The Stadhuys

When I visited Malacca some time back last year, I came across a red building. It is called "stadhuys", formerly a Dutch Governor's residence. Now it is converted o the Historic and Ethnography Muzeum with extensive traditional bridal costumes and other rics from the past Malacca history.

The original color of the building was white. There are several folktales explaining why it was changed to red color after 1820;s. One of the official tale is that it symolizes the red laterite used in the construction of many buildings in Malacca then. If you go along Jonkers Street, you will be able to find the Stadhuys standing proudly....

Caves Adventure

In Malaysia there are a lot of limestone caves scattered all over the country, ranging from smaller caves just outside towns to very large ones deep in the jungles. A Child Is Born

Most mothers-to-be are very excited over the birth of their babies. Likewise, for the fathers-to-be as well, some can be overly anxious as well, since the day they know they are pregnant till the day of delivery. One of my friends was like this, the day she found out that she was pregnant, both husband and wife were like on top of the world. It has been a long while since I put up my last post. Sorry for the absence, life has been pretty busy for me lately and time really passed real fast, I can say time flies.... Its been a long while since I last wrote my last post in this blog. Time flies so fast that I wish one day I have 48 hours instead of 24. A long weekend is coming soon, 4 days in a row and hope that I can go somewhere to have a breakaway. All That I Need For My Notebook

Before I enrolled into my college, I bought a new notebook. All college students need one nowadays, for our notes and assignments received through emails from our lecturers. My notebook has all the specifications that I need for my own personal and for my lectures as well, practically I cannot live without one. But unfortunately, my notebook does not come with a bag. It is very inconvenient to carry my notebook around, meanwhile I just put it into my backpack which is not safe and practical at all. I am looking for a netbook bag whereby I can keep my notebook plus my other books needed for my daily studies as well.

MoonCake Festival

The Mooncake Festival is approaching soon. It is also called Mid-Autumn Festival which falls on the 15th day of the 8th month in the Chinese Lunar Calendar and it coincides with the Autumn Equinox of the Solar Calendar. My uncle used to be an avid avid golfer. I do not know the reason why he stopped but I could still see his golf equipment whenever I go to his house. Tasik Kenyir

Wow..it has been three weeks since I last posted on this blog. How time flies. Sometimes I wish there is 48 hours in a day instead of 24... hahahaha... there are so much to do each day and time really pass very fast. Week by week it goes past.

New Guidelines To Blogging

This is something alarming I read just now and I hope it will not happen here in Asia as yet. Bloggers need to follow guidelines as to how to legalise one's blog...

The Federal Trade Commission is planning to crack down on bloggers who review or promote products while earning freebies or payments.

This would, for the first time, bring bloggers under FTC guidelines that ban deceptive or unfair business practices.

"New guidelines, expected to be approved late this summer with possible modifications, would clarify that the agency can go after bloggers--as well as the companies that compensate them--for any false claims or failure to disclose conflicts of interest," the article explained.

The rules could be quite strict, even extending to the practice of affiliate links--for example, a music blogger who links to a song on Amazon MP3 or iTunes that earns an affiliate commission in the process.

Izea says that it requires bloggers to disclose what they've gotten paid for or what they've received for free. But with the proposed FTC guidelines, if a blogger fails to disclose a freebie or payment, both Izea and the blogger could be held responsible. The FTC could also take issue with the fact that for at least one promotion, Izea has said it avoided including bloggers who would be likely to give the company negative press.

Some bloggers, the AP article mentioned, are concerned that the FTC's efforts could go too far, possibly generating probes into posts that were written without any compensation, and possibly leading bloggers to post with more restraint. And some believe it would be better if bloggers created their own standards based on niche and industry.

Then there's this: does the FTC realize just how many small-time bloggers are out there? Championing business ethics is a worthy goal, but, um, good luck getting much done when there are hundreds of thousands of blogs out there and new ones popping up more or less daily. Ever heard of the expression "herding cats?"
