Sipadan Island

Have you ever been to Sipadan Island in Sabah? The first time I heard of it was when the pirates went there to kidnap the holiday makers many years ago. It must be a very frightening experience for those kidnapped and after that, security was buffered up real tight.

Sipadan was one of the mst internationally famous island in the oceanic Malaysia. It was formed by living corals growing on top of an extinct undersea volcano, which rises 600m from the seabed. The island lies in the centre of the richest marine habitat in the world, the heart of the Indo-Pacific basin. The World Wildlife Fund describes the place as the spot on the planet that has the most marine life.
