During this festive season, I have been eating like a "glutton" and gaining weight excessively. It is no joke, I got to be cautious now, age is catching up. Chinese New Year just came and went, but of course, there are fifteen days of celebration before we can say cny is over. There are a few days that are special to all chinese and especially to those who are Buddhists. On the 7th day, it is called Yan Yat, meaning Humans Day, where everyone celebrate their birthday on this auspicious day. Then on the 9th day, hokkiens celebrate their heavenly king or something like that, if I m not mistaken. And on the 15th day, there is Chap Goh Mei where it is known to throw oranges to the river from single ladies hoping to get their potential husbands in the near future.
